When I first met Andrea and Alex for their proposal last month, I couldn’t help but be drawn to their silly personalities. To meet up again for an engagement session was a treat! And honestly, what better way to be up at sunrise than to meet with bright, smiley faces – even though both Andrea and Alex were super tired from a lack of sleep. I mean, Andrea is stunning for a girl running on zero hours of sleep! She pulled that off way better than I ever could!

Since sessions are on location, they are timed for optimal lighting and are typically within the last 2 hours before sunset but the lighting is also incredible within the first 2 hours after sunrise. (That’s when we get softer lighting and gorgeous glow from the sun.) We’re both early birds, so we met up for a sunrise engagement session in Historic St. Augustine and I have to say, even though it was early it was totally worth it! The lower humidity and cool morning made for a much more comfortable photo session, and the pink sky in the clouds over the water made a perfect backdrop for these lovebirds.

If you ever have a chance to meet Alex and Andrea, their giggles and fun personalities are contagious – you won’t be able to stop yourself from smiling around them! As we met up and walked toward each other along the water, I waved my big goofy wave, and Andrea replied back, “I waved first but you didn’t see me!”. I *had* to laugh because that’s normally me! And then I’d feel awkward because anyone who saw me would have thought I was waving to an imaginary friend (story of my life). Thankfully for Andrea that wasn’t the case!

Andrea and Alex, you smiles and giggles have held a special place in my heart from the moment I met you. It has been a joy getting to know you and being a part of your engagement journey!
