I’m grateful to have met some of the most wonderful people during my short time in Florida — including the Caruso family. It was so nice to meet Lilian and her beautiful family for family photos on the beach near St. Augustine, Florida. She is so kind, friendly, and welcoming to a girl (me!) from way up north and new to the Jacksonville area. I love her spanish accent and loved listening to her speak both languages so gracefully. I secretly (probably not so secret) wish I could speak spanish fluently with my Puerto Rican roots and she inspired me even more to learn!

The sun is getting ready to set and there’s a cool ocean breeze. As we head to the beach, we talk about where we’re from and how we got to Florida. Lilian and her husband, Jeff, made their way to Virginia where their twins, Oksana and Santiago, were born, then Atlanta, then fell in love with St. Augustine (me too!) and have been here ever since. Lilian and her family love traveling and they’ve been to so many beautiful places around the world. My traveling heart was swooning over the stories (and Lilian’s blush, flowy dress!).

Oksana and Santiago loved being in front of the camera. They were polite and sweet and loved twirling around on the beach. My inner magical unicorn LOVES Oksana’s dress SO MUCH, I might need to have a birthday cake made to match it!
